The Chief of Police is the highest-ranking officer in the police department and is responsible for the planning, efficient administration, and operation of the police department under the authority of the governing body. The Chief is responsible for directing all activities of the Police Department to prevent crime and enforce laws and regulations while maintaining law and order in the city, including prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes while making sure department actions are in direct accordance with legal and professional standards.
