As a department, the Municipal Court is responsible for the collection of fines and all filings before the court. The Municipal judge hears and renders decisions on all cases filed with the Municipal Court over which the Municipal court has authority. The Municipal Judge is independently responsible for performing all duties of a magistrate under the laws of the State of Texas.
